Yoga In The Heatons
There are so many benefits that practicing yoga has both physically and mentally. It is an ancient practice that not only improves physical fitness but also helps to focus the mind, giving you the chance to take a break from the day-to-day distractions of modern, busy life. Based in the 4 Heatons, Stockport, our intention is to help our students develop their yoga practice to suit their own needs and find what works best for them.

Who is behind Yoga In The Heatons
Irene Ng
200h Yoga Alliance yoga teacher
Originally trained as a research scientist, I found my love of yoga during my days at university. I continued this practice on and off until deciding that I wanted to learn more and develop my yoga practice further and plunged my self into the deep end taking on yoga teacher training in 2021. I am a 200 hour qualified teacher and am registered with Yoga Alliance international. I love fast vinyasa classes and also enjoy slower Hatha yoga depending on how I am feeling. Yoga gives me the chance to slow down the mental chatter, calm my anxiousness and as a bonus also keeps my body strong and healthy.
I believe yoga is for everyone of any age, regardless of fitness, ability, strength, flexibility, or experience; everyone and everybody is welcome to move mindfully at a pace that suits them. I want my classes to be challenging but also for individuals to have fun and feel the many benefits of their yoga practice beyond the mat. Yoga is not only about the physical practice but can have so many positive effects off the mat too. Practicing can make a huge difference to mental wellbeing and I am a massive advocate for these benefits.
Classes
A slow flow style of class to target all areas of the body, to build strength and flexibility and build heat in the body. Transitions between yoga poses are practiced in coordination with the breath with the aim to move continuously and mindfully. It's a great way to re-energise both physically and mentally. This class is suitable for all levels where pose modifications and the use of yoga bricks (provided) is encouraged to make the class more accessible. Just give it a try!
